Marian Catholic Band To Play At White Sox' Star Wars Night

The award-winning Marian Catholic High School band will march onto the field with the Imperial March and play the National Anthem.

CHICAGO, IL -- Marian Catholic High School will have a significant presence at the Chicago White Sox home game against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, which is also "Star Wars Night" at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The nationally-renowned Marian Catholic band will play the National Anthem before the game and after marching onto the field playing the famous "Imperial March" from Star Wars.

Joseph Bergen, a 2011 Marian Catholic band alum who recently graduated from Saint Louis University with a doctorate in physical therapy, will throw out the first pitch before about 1,300 members of the school community and thousands of other fans at the ballpark.

The school's Alumni Association will present a pre-game tailgate. The game will begin at 6:10 p.m.

Members of the Marian Catholic community will enjoy the game from right and left field bleachers. As a gesture of community support, $5 from each ticket sold will benefit a Marian Catholic team, organization, or club, selected by the purchaser. The first 15,000 fans to enter the park will receive a White Sox Stormtrooper Bobblehead.

A fireworks display is planned after the game.
