Marian Catholic Band Wins Bands of America National Title in Class 2A
The band put in an impressive showing at the Bands of America Grand National Finals Nov. 14.

The Marian Catholic High School Marching Band this weekend added another title to an already impressive history.
In its record 32nd appearance, the band won the Class 2A National Championship and captured eighth place overall among 95 schools at the Bands of America Grand National Finals competition on Nov. 14 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Marian scored 90.90 in the Finals round.
In addition to winning the Class 2A championship (determined in semifinals), the Marian Band earned 2A top honors for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect.

The Spartan Band has won a record seven Grand National Championships, the last coming in 2000.
The Marian Band also won its 36th consecutive Illinois Marching Band state championship in Class on Oct. 17 at Illinois State University, as well as winning its seventh straight overall Grand Championship at ISU and 15th overall. Marian recently captured third place in the BOA Super Regionals at Indianapolis, including a first place in Class AA.
