Marian Catholic Coach to Enter ESCC Hall of Fame

Marian Catholic High School head coach Mike Taylor will be inducted Thursday night.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Marian Catholic High School Men's Basketball Head Coach Mike Taylor will be inducted into the East Suburban Catholic Conference Hall of Fame tonight.

The induction ceremony will take place at the Abbington Banquet Hall in Glen Ellyn, according to a news release from Marian Catholic athletics.

Taylor has a 231-177 career record in 14 seasons at the helm of the Marian Catholic program, the winningest coach in the history of basketball at the school. He's been to the IHSA Elite 8 twice and won five regional titles with the Spartans. Before his time at Marian Catholic, Taylor led Hales Franciscan to the Sweet 16 twice.

He is one of several people entering the Hall of Fame Thursday night. A number of teams - the 1987 Marist Wrestling, 2007 Saint Viator Men’s Golf and Joliet Catholic football champions from 1977, 1987 and 2007 - are among the entries.
