Marian Catholic High Hosts 29th Annual Endowment Golf Classic

Over $100,000 Raised to Support Scholars with a Soul

Marian Catholic High School hosted the 29th Annual Endowment Golf Classic on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the historic Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Illinois. The event featured lunch, golf, dinner and live and silent auctions. Highlights of the auction included Chicago Bears, Cubs, Sox and Blackhawks tickets, Notre Dame Football tickets, an autographed White Sox jersey and a variety of golf and wine packages, and a trip to Mexico.

This year, 118 golfers took to the links to help provide scholarship funds for Marian Catholic students. Since its founding, students have received over $1.2 million in tuition assistance through the Endowment Golf Classic. Senior Christopher Arce-Perez, from Chicago Heights, a four-year Endowment Classic Scholarship recipient, spoke about the opportunities Marian Catholic has given him to cultivate his abilities as well as his persona through his roles as a Dominican Ambassador, a trumpet section leader in the band, and student-worker in the maintenance department. “Your investment in me has taken what my family called a chance and turned it into a fruitful reality. My life will be forever reshaped by the generosity of everyone in this room any my gratitude cannot be contained by words.” Christopher plans to continue his education at the University of Chicago where he intends to major in English or journalism.
