Mayoral, City Council Races Could Be Contested In Chicago Heights

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Several races in the 2019 Chicago Heights election could be contestants as a total of 20 candidates have filed petitions to seek elected office. More than one candidate filed for the mayoral office as well as the city council seats in wards 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Candidates in the races for treasurer, city clerk and 1st and 2nd wards appear to go unopposed.

A source who filed a Freedom of Information Act request has shared this list of who has filed petitions in the specific races.

Treasurer: Jim Dee

City Clerk: Lori J. Wilcox

1st Ward Ald.: Renee Smith

2nd Ward Ald.: Sonia Perez

4th Ward Ald.: Christopher J. Baikauskas, Jason M. Amos
