Newly Ordained Priest At St. Paul Catholic Church
The first assignment for Misabet Garcia Gil will be at St. Paul Catholic Church in Chicago Heights.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — One of four priests who was ordained over the weekend by Cardinal Blase Cupich will serve his first assignment at St. Paul Catholic Church in Chicago Heights. Misabet Garcia Gil, 50, of Cuernavaca, Mexico is the newest priest at the parish centered at 206 E. 25th St.
Garcia Gil celebrated his first mass at St. Mark Catholic Church in Chicago on Sunday, May 20. He was ordained by Cupich at Holy Name Cathedral the day before.
The first mass for Garcia Gil at St. Paul is expected to be sometime in July.

Three others were ordained with Garcia Gil on Saturday. Other new priests in the Archdiocese of Chicago are Agustin Garza Candanosa, 42, of Monterrey, Mexico; Robinson Ortiz, 27, of Landazuri, Columbia and Charlie Plovanich, 25, of Chicago.
"While each priest has taken a unique path in responding to God's call, the share the common desire to serve His church," said Cupich. "The new priests join a brotherhood which enhances their ability to bring renewal, joy and comfort to those in need of guidance, healing and mercy."
