Peapod Rolls Out Meal Kits for Fall, Featuring All-New Recipes by Barilla

For the Midwestern parent whose fall schedule is chock full of shuttling kids to sports fields and after-school activities, here’s the good news… no more mealtime madness. Today, Peapod, the nation’s leading online grocer, rolled out five fresh-to-prepare Peapod Meal Kits featuring all-new recipes by Barilla. Beginning Oct. 3, a total of seven Peapod Meal Kits are available for delivery or Pick-up, with all ingredients pre-packaged and pre-measured to create a satisfying, balanced meal for a family of four or more. The new recipes, with an emphasis on seasonal fall flavors, appeal to kids and adults alike and are part of an ongoing collaboration between Peapod and Barilla to help make mealtime easier and more affordable for busy families throughout Chicago, Indianapolis and Milwaukee.

The launch of the Peapod Meal Kits last winter coincided with families’ growing demands for convenient meals that are ready in 30 minutes or less, taste great and are affordably priced. The overwhelmingly positive response from customers – 91 percent satisfaction rate and 85 percent repurchase rate – verified this shift. This season’s Peapod Meal Kits deliver even more convenience and value to customers – anytime, anywhere.

Ingredients for Success
Beginning Oct. 3, families can choose from seven recipes – five of them all-new for the season – developed by Barilla chefs, exclusive to Peapod and perfect for dig-in family meals. Each recipe is designed to be prepared in under 30 minutes, for less than $5.00 per serving.

New recipes include:
• Bucatini all’Amatriciana by Barilla® - a dish long celebrated in Italian cuisine, our version creates a savory sauce brimming with smoky and slightly spicy flavor.
• Spaghetti with Quick Bolognese Sauce by Barilla® - Serve up the authentic flavor of an Italian ragú in less than 30 minutes!
• Tortellini Soup by Barilla® - a simple meal you’re sure to warm up to!
• Farfalle with Butternut Squash by Barilla® - a simple meal that’s perfectly suited for savoring the flavor of the season.
• Steak alla Pizzaiola by Barilla®- a traditional Neapolitan dish made up of cuts of beef in a savory marinara sauce with sautéed garlic and chili flakes.
