Photo Gallery: Rep. Anthony DeLuca Sponsors Annual Senior Fair

Bloom Township was the site of the annual senior fair sponsored by Rep. DeLuca. Speakers talked to senior residents from scams to services.

On Monday, October 29th, the annual Senior Fair sponsored by State Rep. Anthony DeLuca was held at the Bloom Township office in Chicago Heights.

State Rep. Anthony DeLuca welcomed the residents and listened to any concerns they had.

Various services took place such as Walgreens pharmacist, Julie Barry gave flu shots. Bloom Township passed out small bags full of information on the township and senior activities.

Seniors learned valuable information from speakers such as, Hector Dominguez the outreach specialist from the Cook County assessor's office spoke to the seniors on the tax exemptions they are eligible for.

Norman "Skip" Gonsoulin, Jr. the senior community relations liaison from the Office of the Attorney General spoke to seniors on how to avoid scams going on. Gonsoulin suggested always calling the Better Business Bureau regarding a company. Also whenever getting repairs done, always get a written estimate.

Barbara McGill, the senior care coordinator from Catholic Charities in the Harvey office explained services that were available to them. Also speaking were reps from Bloom Township and other offices.
