Prairie State Board Member Calls For Chair To Resign After Arrest
Camiella Williams says Praire State board chair Jacqueline Agee should resign after not informing the board of her battery arrest.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - A Prairie State College board of trustees member is calling for the resignation of the board's chair after a report surfaced of a battery arrest made earlier this year. Camiella Williams said Jacqueline Agee never informed other members of the board of an incident that resulted in an arrest at a bar in Chicago's River North neighborhood in May.
Agee, whose battery charge has since been dropped after prosecutors decided not to move forward with the case and were "unwilling to pursue," was accused of striking a man wearing a cast from a previous injury in the arm twice at the Old Crow Smokehouse on Kinzie Avenue on May 18.
Williams, in a statement provided to Chicago Heights Patch, calls for the resignation of her colleague.

"As a Trustee of Prairie State College, I publicly denounce the behavior of my colleague Chairwoman Jacquline Agee. There is a certain level of professionalism and decorum that we as officers of the college must abide by at all times. Due to the behavior and lack of transparency, of Chairwoman Agee I am requesting that she resigns from the board effective immediately."
Agee has been on the Prairie State board since 2007. She was re-elected in 2013 and is also a police officer in South Chicago Heights. According to South Chicago Heights Police Chief Bill Joyce, Agee was placed on administrative leave after the arrest but has since been reinstated. She has "an unblemished" disciplinary record with the department, Joyce said.
According to information on the Prairie State website, Williams is a former student at the college and an activist working to prevent gun violence throughout Chicagoland. Her bio indicates she's a violence prevention task force member for Congresswoman Robin Kelly as well.
