Robert Bove Sr., Former Bloom Board Member, Dies

A lifelong area resident, Mr. Bove taught for years in Harvey and was a trustee in South Chicago Heights.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL -- Robert F. Bove Sr., a Korean War veteran in the U.S. Army, former South Chicago Heights trustee and Bloom Township High School board member, died last week. He was 89.

Bove lived in the Chicago Heights area his entire life, an obituary from the PanozzoBros. Funeral Home shows. He taught for 37 years in Harvey School District 152 and owned Bob's Landscaping for 20 years.

A Bloom graduate who later played football at the University of Dubuque, Bove also authored a book titled β€œAccordion Man – The Legendary Dick Contino.”

He leaves behind his wife, Conchetta as well as three children, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside committal with military honors will take place on Thursday, April 19 beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
