Retired Cop Accused Of Sexual Abuse At Chicago Police Station
A lengthy investigation into a 2016 incident at the 5th District police station ended with the arrest of Michael Clifton this week.

CHICAGO, IL - A retired Chicago police officer has been charged on allegations he sexually abused a woman while he was on-duty in 2016. The arrest of Michael Clifton on Wednesday came after an "extensive" investigation into the alleged Sept. 20, 2016 incident by the Chicago Police Department Internal Affairs bureau, according to police.
Clifton, 59, of the 9800 block of South Aberdeen Street was identified as the police officer who abused the 35-year-old woman that day at the 5th District police station located at 727 E. 111th St. in the city's Pullman neighborhood, police said in a news release.
The investigation led to the arrest of Clifton, who retired from the CPD in January of 2017, on Wednesday in southeast suburban Lansing. He has been charged with one felony count of criminal sexual abuse/force and another felony count of official misconduct/forbidden act.

Clifton was set to appear in court at 26th and California on the charges on Thursday.
