100 Grams Of Pot Found During Stop In Hazel Crest: Police

A 25-year-old Hazel Crest man was arrested after police say they found numerous drug-related items in the car he was in.

HAZEL CREST, IL — A Hazel Crest man is facing drug charges after police say more than 100 grams of cannabis were found in a car he was in during a stop in the village earlier this month. Andre D. Taylor, 25 was taken into custody by Flossmoor police at 7:39 p.m. on June 5 as part of a multi-jurisdictional drug investigation.

A Flossmoor police report indicates Taylor was the passenger of a car that was seen pulling out of a driveway near Village and Golfview drives in Hazel Crest. Police say the car's registration sticker had been expired and that the driver did not use a signal while making a turn before police made the stop.

"A strong odor of cannabis," was noticed from the car at that point, police said. A "green leafy substance" was also spotted before a search was made.
