Stolen Cars Involved In Police Chase, 2 Teens Charged
Police say an 18-year-old led police on a chase from Homewood to Harvey in a stolen Range Rover.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A pair of teenagers were charged after a police chase that began in Homewood and ended in Harvey last week.
Two stolen cars were involved in the chase that began around 8:45 a.m. on Sept. 30, when police officers were originally called to what was reported at a "carjacking" from the Shell gas station at 3151 W. 183rd St. There they met with the person who called them and began pursuing a pair of fleeing vehicles: a BMW that was later found to have been reported stolen from Lemont and a Range Rover reported stolen from Orland Park.
Homewood police say the BMW struck a curb and came to a stop a few blocks away on 183rd, but all of the occupants were able to run away.

The Range Rover continued to flee authorities, going northbound on Governors Highway and eventually ending up in the 14400 block of South Sangamon in Harvey, where the car stopped.
There, police took a 17-year-old passenger into custody at the scene and found 18-year-old Johnny Harris of Chicago, nearby after he is alleged to have attempted to flee on foot. Harris was charged with aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude and possession of a stolen vehicle while the 17-year-old - also of Chicago - was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle.
