4 Homewood Businesses Burglarized In 1 Night

Glass doors at businesses on Governors Highway, 183rd Street and Halsted were shattered within a three-hour span.

HOMEWOOD, IL - Homewood police are investigating four instances of burglaries to businesses that were all reported within a three-hour span from Monday night into Tuesday morning. In all four cases, the offenders shattered a glass door to get inside the businesses.

Police were first called to the Best Buy store at 17800 S. Halsted St. at 11:36 p.m., when it was reported that someone shattered a window and made entry into the business and removed miscellaneous items.

At 1:50 a.m., there was a burglary report made at the Big Lots store located at 3055 W. 183rd St. There, police say a glass door was shattered as several items were removed from the business.

At 1:59 a.m., a similar incident was reported at Lorenz Appliances, 18320 Governors Highway and at 2 a.m. another incident of a shattered glass door and burglary at Edible Arrangements, 18312 Governors Highway.

Police have not issued details on any possible suspects.
