HAZEL CREST, IL – It didn't take long for the first baby of 2019 to come at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest. Mom Kiara Cox gave birth to a 7-pound, 1-ounce baby at 1:04 a.m. on Jan. 1 in the Advocate South Suburban Hospital's Women and Infants Center, according to a news release. Treasure Jasmin was the first baby born at the hospital this year after mom went through 15 hours of labor.
“Labor seemed like a lifetime,” mom said.

Little Treasure, measuring at 20 inches, came one week early and was under the care of Dr. Edgar Del Castillo, who practices obstetrics and gynecology.
