Serena Hills Teacher Named Golden Apple Finalist
Andrea Beaty was one of just 34 Chicagoland teachers nominated for the prestigious teaching award.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - A Chicago Heights elementary school teacher has been named a finalist for the 2017 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Andrea Beaty, a teacher at Serena Hills Elementary School, is one of 34 finalists from Chicagoland up for the award.
“These finalists are shining examples of the transformative power excellence in teaching plays in improving students’ lives,” said Dominic Belmonte, CEO of Golden Apple. “We are proud to continue our tradition of honoring teaching excellence and congratulate these candidates on their selection as finalists for the Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.”

Beaty is in her eighth year of teaching and currently is teaching fourth grade at Serena Hills, according to her biography on the school’s website.
