Solar Eclipse Event Planned At Prairie State
Participants can view the eclipse from the college's butterfly garden through protective eye gear.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL -- The public is invited to a free solar eclipse viewing event at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights. The event will go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 21 at the main campus of the school, according to an alert from eNews Park Forest.
The eclipse will have maximum coverage over Chicago and its suburbs at 1:20 p.m.
Viewers at Prairie State will see the eclipse through Cassegrain telescopes, solar glasses and other protective viewing material. All viewers must wear some sort of eye protection.
