Son-In-Law Charged In Death Of Elderly Woman In Chicago Heights
Charles Williams has been charged with murder in the Memorial Day weekend death of Australia Landingham.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - The son-in-law of the 82-year-old woman who was found dead at her Chicago Heights home over the Memorial Day weekend has been charged with her murder. Chicago Heights police charged Charles Williams, 48, of Riverdale on Thursday with first degree murder in the death of Australia Landingham.
Landingham was found dead on the floor of her home in the 2300 block of Halsted Street around 5:45 p.m. on May 27, police said. A Cook County Medical Examiner's report indicated she died of multiple blunt force injuries in an assault as her death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators from the Illinois State Police and South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force helped the Chicago Heights detective division in investigating the case, which led to the arrest of Williams.

Williams is scheduled to make his initial court appearance at 1 p.m. Friday at the Markham Courthouse.
