Stabbings In Chicago Heights Result In 1 Man's Death

A man from Northwest Indiana was killed from wounds he sustained in an early morning fight in Chicago Heights.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - An early morning fight between two men in Chicago Heights resulting in one of them having been stabbed to death over the weekend. Dalton Rhyne, 27, of Highland, Indiana was identified as the victim of a stabbing that allegedly occurred near Joe Orr Road and State Street Saturday morning around 5:34 a.m., according to a report from the Daily Southtown.

Rhyne was pronounced dead about an hour later at a hospital in Northwest Indiana. Police were called to the location in Chicago Heights after someone called to report the fight, but they did not find anyone there when they arrived.

A further investigation linked Rhyne's fatal injury to the incident in Illinois and said it was connected to an injury a 29-year-old man from Ford Heights sustained in the same fight.

The Ford Heights man, who was recovering at a hospital in Illinois, suffered multiple stab wounds to his back.
