State Rep Says Mayor 'Acted Like A Bully' During Gambling Talks
State Rep. Marty Moylan called the Chicago Heights mayor "unprofessional" after the two discussed gambling expansion in Illinois.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - An Illinois state representative used harsh language while describing his talks with Chicago Heights Mayor David Gonzalez.
“In my conversations with him he was unprofessional and acted like a bully,” State Rep. Marty Moylan is quoted as saying in reference to Gonzalez in an article published by the Journal & Topics newspaper, a news outlet that covers the northwest suburbs including Moylan's hometown of Des Plaines.
The quote was made in context to the topic of the possibility of expanding gambling operations in Illinois. Moylan criticized how some south suburbs, including Chicago Heights, are able to cash in on both revenue sharing from the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines and also video gaming they have themselves.

“I don’t think it’s fair for him to get revenue from both sources," Moylan said, referring to Gonzalez. "I encourage the Des Plaines City Council to look into this.”
The Journal reports that Chicago Heights has received about $10.5 million in the revenue sharing as part of the Rivers agreement since 2011.
