Talents Showcased at CMT Youth Day

Area youth brought the audience to tears as they sand inspirational songs and read poetry during Chicago Miracle Temple Church Youth Day!

The room at Chicago Miracle Temple Church was still. Approaching the microphone, Bloom Trail student Lyra Hibbler began singing A Capella a rendition of a CeCe Winans song called Alabaster Box. She poured her song for an audience. Tears ran down the cheeks of some.

This was just a part of Youth Day at the church.

“ Chicago Heights residents should hear these children,” said new Children’s Church Director, Rosalyn Jamison.

For the next hour, Jayden Turner played a drum solo. A member of the church since birth, he is now the Sunday service official drummer since he’s been 4 years old. “ I’ve never had a lesson,” says Jayden. His talent on the drums is somewhat spiritual.

Children such as Jayden and teen Lyra along with Chyanne Parker, Asia Triplett, Tay Turner and more read a poem, sang a song or danced with joy. The new youth ministry at Chicago Miracle Temple is alive!

Practices are on Saturdays at Chicago Miracle Temple Church, from noon until 2pm. This program is FREE and under the direction of Melanie Boyd and Carlisa Anderson.

“ The CMT youth ministry is about more than having fun,” says Jamison. ” We strive to be a vital piece of the discipleship process for youth who follow Jesus. We invest deeply and are highly visible in the community,” she adds.
