Teen Shot To Death On Thanksgiving In Park Forest
An 18-year-old man was shot to death in a vehicle on Sauk Trail in Park Forest on Thanksgiving.

PARK FOREST, IL - Police in Park Forest are investigating the shooting death of an 18-year-old man in Park Forest on Thanksgiving Day. Kiante Albert of Park Forest was found with a gunshot wound after police say he was show while traveling in a vehicle by an offender who was in another vehicle.
Police and paramedics arrived at the crime scene in the 0-100 block of McCarthy Road at 7:40 p.m. Albert was found in a vehicle traveling south on Sauk Trail with a wound to the upper torso, police said. He was rushed to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, where he succumbed to his injuries.
An initial investigation indicates the shooting took place on Sauk Trail near Lester Road, according to police. The shooting is not considered "random."

"The members of the Park Forest Police Department extend their condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Albert and pledge their full efforts in bringing those responsible for his murder to justice," police said in a statement on Friday.
The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit assisted police at the scene and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force will help with the investigation.
