Work of Three Master Photographers on Display during PSC Christopher Art Gallery "The Discerning Eye" Exhibit Beginning Oct. 6
The work of three renowned photographers will be on display through October in the PSC Christopher Art Gallery.

The work of three renowned photographers will be on display through October, in the Christopher Art Gallery, located on the Prairie State College (PSC) main campus, at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.
The exhibition, “The Discerning Eye: Photography Masters Dawoud Bey, Terry Evans, and Joseph Jachna,” opens Monday, Oct. 6 and closes Thursday, Nov. 6.
An artists’ reception is scheduled from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9.

“These three master photographers are internationally recognized for their powerful works that force us to look more closely at the world around us,” said Beth Shadur, gallery director. “The widely varied works include large portraits of young people, landscapes ravaged by industry, and nature studied at close range.”
“These artists all make us notice, and they ask us to look deeper than the surface and to think beyond our own limited perceptions of reality,” Shadur added. “Each of the three uses as subjects what may be considered mundane, but presents to us images that ask us to repeatedly look, and to give our attention to that which we may have neglected to see.”

The Christopher Art Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Visits also can be made by appointment. For more information about the exhibit or to make an appointment for a visit, call (708) 709-3636.
