Abiding Spirit Center "Chop 'Til You Drop" Event a Success!
The August 1 "Chop 'Til You Drop" fundraising event was a huge success, supported by people in the community and many local businesses.
The Abiding Spirit Center held its annual fundraising event on August 1. This year, the theme was “Chop ‘Til You Drop”, where the Center’s martial arts students committed to executing over 1,000 sword cuts each to raise money for the Center. 18 members did 1,080 cuts each, for a grand total of 19,440, and raised over $5500. The event was also supported by some area businesses:

The funds will be used to support the various programs offered by the Abiding Spirit Center. These include:
*services for cancer survivors
*conflict resolution programs for youths
*support for caregivers of the elderly and those suffering from terminal diseases
*empowerment workshops for abuse survivors
In 2014, the Center helped over 1500 people to live better, healthier lives. We anticipate an even higher number for 2015.
