Algonquin Man Sentenced for Growing 316 Marijuana Plants in Forest Preserve

Marcelino Villa-Rodriguez will be sentenced to probation and to pay $7,500 in restitution.

An Algonquin man who was arrested for growing 316 marijuana plants in the DuPage County forest preserve has been sentenced to two years probation and to pay $7,500 in restitution for the damage "he caused to the property," according to a Daily Herald article.Β 

Marcelino Villa-Rodriguez, 29, was caught by authorities pruning the marijuana plants while police were looking for illegal deer-hunting stands in Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve near Wayne in September 2012, according to the article.Β
