CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Construction on Depot Park in downtown Crystal Lake is nearing completion, with city officials announcing plans to reopen the park in early June following a major reconstruction project.

The nearly $7 million overhaul will add new gathering spaces, fountains, seating, landscaping and improved pedestrian access near the downtown Metra station, according to Shaw Local. A ribbon-cutting celebration and performance are planned for June 13, coinciding with the season’s first downtown farmers market.
