MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 4-month-old baby was airlifted to a specialized children’s hospital after being found unresponsive and not breathing at a daycare facility in Woodstock Tuesday morning, officials said.
Emergency crews responded around 10:45 a.m. to the House of Children on Harding Lane, where staff had already begun providing care before first responders arrived within minutes, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. Authorities said the infant was stabilized on scene before being transported, and the incident remains under investigation.
In a Facebook post Tuesday, the House of Learning addressed the situation.
"We would like to extend our gratitude to our community for the overwhelming support shown to the little one who experienced a medical emergency today," according to the statement posted on Facebook. "We are extremely proud of our team for their prompt and professional response, and above all, we are wishing for a speedy and full recovery for this sweet baby."
