A 28-year-old man is in custody after authorities said he stabbed one hotel guest multiple times and attacked another during an unprovoked attack at a local hotel early Saturday, according to authorities.
Collin M. Foster, 28, now faces two counts of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and an attempted murder charge in connection with the attack at the Hampton Inn in McHenry, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department.
Police were called to the hotel at 1555 S. Route 31 for reports of a disturbance at about 12 a.m. Saturday, police said.
According to police, Foster is accused of stabbing a 48-year-old man multiple times with a knife. A second victim, a 38-year-old man, was also allegedly attacked and battered but did not suffer any stab wounds.
Authorities said there was no known connection between Foster and the victims, and all three men were overnight guests at the hotel.
The man who was stabbed was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Foster was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock pending court proceedings, police said.
