Man Trapped In Rototiller At Local Garden Center Freed By Emergency Crews, Hospitalized: Fire Officials

A man was transported to the hospital Friday afternoon after becoming partially trapped in a rototiller machine at Countryside Flower Shop, Nursery and Garden Center in Crystal Lake.

Fire officials said the victim’s clothing became caught in the rototiller, which is a gas or electric machine with rotating blades that breaks up compacted soil, fire officials told the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.

Emergency crews with the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department were able free the man from the machine and treated him at the scene for low extremity injuries before transporting him to a hospital for further treatment.
