CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A child was airlifted to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after suffering injuries in a fall at a Crystal Lake elementary school, according to fire officials.
Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue responded at about 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday to the 1100 block of Alexandra Boulevard after receiving reports of a traumatic injury involving a child, according to a news release.
Due to the severity of the incident, crews requested a LifeNet medical helicopter to a designated landing zone for a Level I trauma transport. Fire personnel transferred care of the patient to the flight crew on scene.
The child was transported by air to a Level I Trauma Center and was reported to be in stable condition, according to a news release.
