Firefighter and paramedics confirmed all three occupants inside the home had safely exited and were not injured, fire officials said.

Two occupants of the vehicle were evaluated at the scene for minor injuries, and both declined medical transport or further treatment, according to a news release.

Additional crews assessed structural damage and stabilized the area.

Due to concerns about the integrity of the home, the McHenry County Department of Planning and Development was requested to inspect the property, and a private board-up company was called to secure the damaged structure.

Following the inspection, officials determined the residence was unsafe for occupancy pending repairs, according to the news release. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the four displaced residents with temporary lodging and other immediate needs.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
