MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 22-year-old McHenry man is facing felony charges after police say he secretly recorded a woman at a local store and was later linked to additional stalking and property damage investigations.
Kishaun C. Davis, 22, of 2913 Northside Drive, McHenry, was taken into custody Thursday near his residence without incident and was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock to await court proceedings, police said.
The investigation began July 9, when McHenry police responded to the Meijer store at 2253 N. Richmond Road for a suspicious incident, according to a news release from the police department. A 31-year-old woman told police that a male subject had crouched beside her while holding a cellphone near her buttocks. After the woman confronted him, police said the man left the store, and the woman contacted authorities.
A preliminary investigation identified Davis as a suspect and police learned that Davis may have recorded the woman's private areas by placing his phone near her loose-fitting clothing, police said.
Investigators later conducted a forensic analysis of Davis' cellphone, which police said connected him to additional reported crimes in and around McHenry. According to police, between March and July 2026, Davis followed unsuspecting women to their residences and workplaces. Investigators also said Davis caused significant damage to vehicles belonging to some of the women.
