CRYSTAL LAKE — A juvenile bicyclist was seriously injured Thursday in a crash involving a vehicle in Crystal Lake, according to the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department.
Crystal Lake Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to the intersection for a reported crash at about 3:05 p.m. involving a vehicle and a juvenile bicyclist, according to a news release. While crews were responding, a battalion chief requested that a LifeNet medical helicopter be placed on standby.
The juvenile was transferred to the LifeNet medical crew at the landing zone and flown to a Level I trauma center. The patient remained in serious but stable condition, according to Crystal Lake Fire Rescue.
Police notified the child's family regarding the collision, authorities said.
