McHENRY COUNTY, IL — Early voting for the Nov. 3, 2026, general election begins Sept. 24 at the McHenry County Election Center in Woodstock, according to the county's published schedule.
The Election Center, at 410 S. Eastwood Drive in Woodstock,will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 24, with the center closed Oct. 12. Beginning Oct. 19, additional early-voting locations will open throughout the county, and voters may use any early-voting center where their ballot style is available, according to the county.
Those locations include Lake in the Hills Village Hall, Algonquin Township Garage in Crystal Lake, McHenry City Hall, Crystal Lake Public Library, Nunda Township Office, McHenry Township Office, Huntley Park District, Algonquin Library, Cary Park District, Dunham Township Office in Harvard and Marengo City Hall.
From Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, most of the county's early-voting locations will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while several additional locations will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The schedule expands on Oct. 26, when the primary group of locations will remain open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday through Oct. 30.
Hours will vary on the final weekend before Election Day, with some locations open Saturday, Oct. 31, and the primary early-voting sites also scheduled to open Sunday, Nov. 1. The full early-voting schedule can be found online.
The county also has a 24/7 ballot drop box at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock, while additional drop boxes are available inside the voting rooms at several early-voting locations.
Voters who requested a vote-by-mail ballot but instead choose to vote in person may go to the polls and surrender their vote-by-mail ballot, according to the county's notice.
