The Land Conservancy Hosts Art of the Land Art Show and Fundraiser Oct. 23 & 24

Event Showcases the Work of More Than 50 Local Artists – Advance tickets available now

Attendees will experience art inspired by the local landscape, live music and more at the Art of the Land art show and fundraiser. Proceeds from the event support land preservation in McHenry County. (The Land Conservancy of McHenry County)

The Land Conservancy of McHenry County (TLC) is hosting the 18th annual Art of the Land art show and fundraiser Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the historic Starline Factory, 400 W. Front St. Harvard, IL.

Art of the Land is a showcase of artwork that features the beauty of the McHenry County landscape. The show includes art for sale from more than 50 local artists, artisan items for purchase, a youth art display, Year of the Woman Farmer special exhibit, poetry by the Woodstock-based poetry collective Atrocious Poets on Friday, raffle, live music, appetizers (included in ticket price) and cash bar.

There will be pottery demonstrations both nights by The Clayworkers' Guild of Illinois. Local musicians Donna Brooks and Ironwood will perform Friday and Justin Wallace will perform on Saturday.

Artisan offerings will include handmade jewelry, ceramics, felted animals, fused glass, apothecary items and even henna tattoos.

In addition to the fine art show, the event features a display of photos taken by amateur photographers at many of the properties TLC has preserved. Guests will have the opportunity to vote on a People's Choice photograph each night.

Art of the Land is TLC's biggest fundraiser of the year, and 30 percent of art sales from the event supports land preservation in McHenry County.

Advance tickets are $15 per night and tickets can be purchased at www.ArtoftheLand.org . Tickets will be $20 per night at the door.
