Central controlled play for most of the match before surviving a late Wolves comeback and now rides a five-game win streak into Thursday's home game against Burlington Central.
4. James Lowell Long (977wmoi.com) — Crystal Lake is remembering James Lowell Long, a former Crystal Lake Junior High math teacher and football coach who also belonged to St. Paul's Church here. Though he later returned to Monmouth, his decades of teaching, coaching, and church involvement left a lasting impression on students, athletes, and neighbors who knew him in the Crystal Lake community.
