Earth Day Celebration: Saturday at Prairieview Education Center
Event hosted by the McHenry County Conservation District and the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County.

Celebrate Earth Day with music, a nature hike, or helping with a restoration project this Saturday at the Prairieview Education Center in Crystal Lake.
Hosted by the McHenry County Conservation District and the Environmental Defenders, the Earth Day Celebration is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Prairieview, located 2112 Behan Rd.
The event will be held both indoors and outside. Activities proceed, rain or shine!

The Earth Day Events Include:
- Live music by "Square Drum Circle, Off Square Music" throughout the event, with special musical performance by "The Chickadees" at 1 p.m.
- Puppet shows at 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.
- Guide nature hikes at 11:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m.
- Help out on a restoration service project.
- Get your Earth Day 2013 Patch. Youth group members can do activities and earn the patch at a reduced cost.Β
- Enjoy hands-on games, crafts and storytelling.
- Over 20 Environmental Exhibitors
- Food and Beverage Vendors, or bring your own βNo wasteβ picnic lunch.
HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING DROP OFF: A variety of items will be accepted for recycling including athletic shoes, batteries, fluorescent tubes and polystyrene foam. Check the McHenry County Conservation District webpage for a complete list of accepted items and any associated drop-off fees.
