Crystal Lake Park District to Hold Cooking, Baking Classes for Kids
Classes begin soon-register now!

Three Crystal Lake Park District cooking and baking classes are designed just for kids who want to be in the kitchen. These classes are an excellent introduction to learning about all aspects of cooking from planning, reading a recipe and actually working in the kitchen. Registration in advance is required for all classes. Register online at www.crystallakeparks.org or in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake. Lil Bakers (age 4-6 years)
Lil bakers will bake and decorate their creations. Baking allows children to create using math, measuring, science and language skills. They will practice following directions and bring home delicious recipes.
Location: Rotary Building at Veteran Acres Park
Dates/Time: Monday, January 25-March 7 (no program Feb. 15), 1-3 pm
Program Fee: $70, Resident Discount Fee: $65
Fun & Healthy Cooking for Kids (age 5-11 years)
Each week, a new idea will be introduced along with an explanation of what makes a recipe healthy. Tasty and healthy recipes include: broccoli soup in a bread bowl, power smoothies, oatmeal raspberry bars, sweet potato fries, chicken fried rice and magnificent muffins.

Children’s Cake Decorating Class (age 8-18 years)
Learn how to frost a cake and add borders while decorating a special holiday cake. Supplies are included and each child will bring home their masterpiece.
Location: Admin. Building Art Room, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake
Dates/Time: choice of Saturday, February 13 (Valentine’s), March 12 (St. Paddy’s), March 26 (Easter) or May 14 (Spring), 9-11 am
Program Fee: $35, Resident Discount Fee: $30 (fee is per program date)
