Kate Taylor, founder of Creative Childbirth Concepts® presents an innovative and empowering birth education workshop for anyone preparing for childbirth. No previous artistic ability is required. Held Tuesday evening September 1st, 2015 at Crystal Lake Muse Art Studio from 6:30-9:00 p.m.

This 2 ½ hour workshop will have long lasting effects throughout your birth experience. The lecture and hands on activities are led by board certified music therapist and experienced birth doula Kate Taylor. Kate’s background in therapy and unique way of instructing allows your needs to guide the process of information sharing through storytelling, music listening, art, imagery and labor coaching. The mix of experiences help enrich the learning process and group dynamic where you can expect to:

• engage in creative arts to envision and create your birth plan
• capture a meaningful expression of your goals for birth
• review the stages of labor and birth including postpartum considerations
• learn how to determine your needs and make informed choices during childbirth.
• discover empowering resources for pregnancy, birth and parenting
• explore the use of music for imagery, movement and meditation
• learn how to determine your preferred relaxation and birthing music along with tips for making birth playlists
• learn relaxation techniques with labor comfort measures like music, breath, movement, and much more!

This is a unique opportunity to work with Kate Taylor in a small group setting to gain insight from her as an experienced birth doula and tap into her knowledge in creative arts, particularly the richly therapeutic effects of music for childbirth. You will also gain access to a playlist of music used throughout the workshop so that you may continue to practice the concepts taught in this intensive workshop.
