This month’s opening features three unique artists. The first collection features work by Rebecca Kautz. Rebecca’s paintings reference Midwest landscape, early American life, and native culture. In her opinion narrative is an attempt at creating an immortal voice to speak for us. However, stories become distorted as they become retold. Her paintings portray figures created with a mix of history and folklore (focusing on the rural legend of the Deerman) to create a personal mythology that blends fact and fiction.

The second collection, entitled “Es-scapes” is a collaborative collection of work meant to provide a space for audiences where the soul can reside in peace. This exhibit is a group showing of luscious color and tantalizing texture. Meant to be a playful time to reflect and participate in imagery that we are familiar with, presented in a variety of expression and materials. The participating artists are Cathy Enthof, Cathy Fugatt, Sandy Giordano, Janet Rauchenberger, and Karyl Shields are happy to share these moments of happiness and calm with the community.

The third collection, featured in the Sage Gallery, will exhibit a collection of works by Sharon Settles. Sharon’s pieces are always derived from personal experiences and impressions. To her, art is a venue to showcase visually stimulating and creative works. The visual experiences created by viewing a particular piece are as unique as the individual viewing it. However, the content, media, and techniques used in her paintings are all chosen to help convey her personal thoughts, history, and viewpoints.

Come meet and mingle with the artists while enjoying light fare, a cash bar, and art sales. Donations are appreciated to attend the September First Friday Art Show, and support Lakeside Legacy Arts Park mission to protect and preserve the property while continuing to be an arts education center for the community. The art shows are family friendly and all are encouraged to attend.
