The marina was originally supposed to open this weekend. The cityΒ is hoping "mother nature will cooperate" to allow for the marina and boat rentals to be available starting at 6:30 a.m. on April 19 for the summer season.Β
"The ice that remains on the lake could damage and put holes in the rental boats," according to an e-mail from Eric Helm, Crystal Lake'sΒ Deputy City Manager.Β
Despite warmer temperatures in recent days, theΒ south lake at Three Oaks Recreation area still was 50 percent covered by ice, according to the Three Oaks Recreation Facebook page.Β
