When it comes to fitness and exercise where you train can be just as important as how you train. We are in an age of information based on all the things we are exposed to. With the amount of information that is available why are people still out of shape, eating poorly or getting injured? So much of it has to do with the environment which a person is in. When a person who is looking to get in shape again, or just get started for the first time the last thing that is necessary is to be is intimidated or stressed. People join gyms or start programs every year only to quit or not get results that keep them interested in continuing.
One of the key factors that we have identified is that of a positive environment. It sounds simple but can be complicated. When you train with other people or when kids train with other kids, is there a feeling of belonging?

We believe in rewarding people for what they accomplish both at the gym and in life. When it comes to the youth athletes there is a new program we are doing. Its called athlete of the week. With this we are looking at all the things an athlete does including their performance on the field, community service, grades and how they treat others. Each week a new athlete gets this award and a video is done with them in an interview format. Each athlete is asked a series of questions and the video is posted on YouTube, our website and Facebook. In addition the athlete who is rewarded gets a gift card, t-shirt and sponsorship by a local business. This weeks athlete was sponsored by Kellwood Studio Photography.
This incentive gives the athlete a desire to achieve and to also know that what they do in life is just as important as what they do on the field. This also gives the athlete something to look forward to based upon their own work habit and standing out. If people see others making a positive impact, it drives others to do so also. This is the kind of environment we want to create. One that rewards for good work People like to be rewarded and affirmed they are doing a good job.
Athletics and fitness can be intimidating and stressful and as professionals its our responsibility to make and create and environment that attracts people through positive reinforcement.
The awarded athlete met all the requirements we set and we are proud of his work, motivation and commitment to what he does. Congrats Conor, we are grateful to have you in our environment.
