Winter Special Events at the Crystal Lake Park District Need Help from Mother Nature

Two Crystal Lake Park District special events will happen with the cooperation of Mother Nature. An average of 7-8” of ice are necessary for tractor and truck clearing of the ice and other necessary preparation to set-up for the Chili Open Golf Classic and the 4 X 4 Pond Hockey Tournament. The Crystal Lake Park District encourages players interested in either event to register and staff will keep participants updated about event status. In the event of cancellation, refunds will be issued. Chili Open Golf Classic (#1405-0)
Players will enjoy this day out on frozen Crystal Lake. Teams will play a scramble-style format with a longest drive, closest to the pin and other contests along the 9 hole course. All golfers receive a give-away and a bowl of chili. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. Confirm your tee time selection with Jessica Ortega at (815) 459-0680, ext. 1213. Crystal Lake Park District 4 X 4 Pond Hockey Tournament (#3500-0)
Join us for our inaugural 4 X 4 Pond Hockey tournament that will feature three rinks on Crystal Lake. The tournament (ages 18 & up) will be a three game guarantee starting with pool play and ending with a single elimination tournament. Exclusive tournament jerseys will be awarded to the two teams in the Championship game. Registration deadline is February 12. Fee includes: first place trophy for winning team, t-shirt for all participants, indoor, heated locker rooms & restrooms, concessions and great spectator seating from the beach and heated indoor pavilion.
