14-Year-Old Arrested For Retail Theft: Darien Police Reports

Darien Police reports through Oct. 8.

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

No Valid Driver's License

  • Kelly Fortin, 23, of Woodridge, was arrested at 5:35 p.m. Oct. 6 in the 1700 block of Plainfield Road for no valid license and improper use of registration. Fortin was processed and released with a court date of Nov. 16 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.
  • Myra Sosa, 52, of Melrose Park, was arrested at 4:27 p.m. Oct. 8 in the 2200 block of Manning Road for no valid driver's license and speeding. Sosa was processed and given a court date of Nov. 9 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.

Retail Theft

  • A 14-year-old from Darien was arrested at 1:55 p.m. Oct. 7 at Walmart, 2189 75th St., for retail theft. Earbuds and an item from a previous retail theft at another business were also recovered. The juvenile was released to his parents with a court date to be assigned.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • A Ford 250 pickup was stolen from Extended Stay, 2345 Sokol Court, sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 6 and 6:30 a.m. Oct. 7. The estimated value of loss is unknown at this time.

DUI

  • Howard Schultz, 60, of Westmont, was arrested at 12:48 a.m. Oct. 8 in the 8400 block of Cass Avenue for two counts of DUI, improper lane usage and speeding. Schultz was processed released and given a court date of Nov. 13 at DuPage County Judicial Center.

Driving While License Suspended

  • Cynthia Mojica, 34, of Willowbrook, was arrested at 11:55 a.m. Oct. 8 in the 2200 block of Manning Road for driving while license suspended and speeding. Mojica was processed and given a court date of Nov. 16 at Downers Grove Traffic Court.
