2 Die In Crash At Darien Intersection: Police

A minivan struck a sedan that was turning left, the police chief said.

DARIEN, IL – Two people died in a crash late last week at a major Darien intersection, police said. The two have not been identified.

About 10 a.m. Friday, a silver sedan was traveling west on Plainfield Road turning south onto Clarendon Hills Road, Police Chief Greg Thomas said in an email to Patch. A gray minivan heading east on Plainfield struck the passenger side of the sedan, he said.

The driver of the sedan and the passenger in the minivan both died at the hospital, police said.

A toxicology examination is being conducted, but has not been completed, Thomas said.

A multi-agency, countywide team is investigating, Thomas said.
