2 DUIs, Garage Burglary, Shoe Theft From Walmart: Darien Cops

Police say a man tried to leave Walmart with the shoes he was trying on.

Retail Theft

At 9:48 p.m. on May 1 an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 2189 75th St. for a retail theft. Loss
Prevention advised offender walked out of store with shoes that offender was trying on. Roberto Watters, 39, of Wilmington was arrested for retail theft.

DUI

At 2:25 a.m. on May 5 an officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the parking lot of 1021 75th Street.
The driver was observed urinating in the parking lot next to the vehicle. The officer looped around as the vehicle proceeded toward Route 83 swerving into both lanes. Julissa Valencia, 36, of Summit was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage.

At 11:57 p.m. on May 5 an officer on patrol southbound Lemont Road at 87th Street observed a vehicle speeding in the 8700 block of Lemont Road. Michaun Mack, 27, of Chicago was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, illegal transport of alcohol and improper lane usage.

Residential Burglary

At 7:28 a.m. on May 5 an officer was dispatched to the 300 block of 69th Street for a burglary from
motor vehicle. The homeowner advised at 7:15 a.m. a relative passing by the residence noticed the garage door was open. A garage door opener was missing from the vehicle on the driveway. The vehicle in the garage had no items missing. The opener was located in the yard.
