3 Drivers Sent To Hospitals After Darien Crash

DARIEN, IL — Three drivers were sent to area hospitals after a crash Sunday afternoon in Darien, police said.

The accident took place about 4 p.m. at Plainfield Road and Brookdale Drive, involving three vehicles, Darien police said.

In an email, Deputy Police Chief Jason Norton said the crash remains under investigation, but it appears one vehicle was waiting to turn from westbound Plainfield to southbound Brookdale when another car struck it from behind. A vehicle traveling east was hit as well, he said.

All three drivers were alone in their cars.

Darien detectives and members of the Metropolitan Emergency Response Investigations Team are investigating.
