4 Theft Arrests, 2 Car Burglaries: Darien Cops

Three of the retail theft arrests occurred at one store, a fourth at another.

DARIEN, IL – Last week, Darien police handled retail theft and vehicle burglary cases. Here is information from the reports:

Retail thefts

  • Juana Jimenez-Albino, 36, of Willowbrook, was cited about 6:30 pm. Nov. 8 at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. According to a police report, she was seen not scanning the bar code on items and then attempting to leave the store. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Taisean Harris, 23, of Chicago, was cited about 8 p.m. Friday on a charge of retail theft. He is accused of stealing two bottles of alcohol from the cooler at Darien Tobacco and Liquor, 7516 Cass Ave. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Dana Nolton, 28, of Broadview, was cited about 4 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. According to a police report, Norton was only scanning a portion of the items. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Malika Price, 30, of Chicago, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. According to a police report, she was seen scanning numerous items using a $1 bar code. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Vehicle burglaries

  • A pickup truck was burglarized on Nov. 6 or Nov. 7 in the 700 block of Somerset Lane. Tools were stolen from the bed of the truck. The tools were valued at $300. The crime was reported Nov. 10.
  • A van was burglarized overnight Nov. 7 in the 900 block of Cherokee Drive. Multiple tools were stolen. They were valued at $2,900.
