6 Cars Burglarized In 1 Block In 1 Day: Darien Cops
All the burglaries were committed on unlocked cars in and near the 500 block of Maple Lane, Darien police said.

DARIEN, IL — Darien police responded to six reports of vehicle burglaries in the 500 block of Maple Lane in one morning. According to police, all the burglaries were reported between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Monday and most of them seem to have taken place overnight. Several cities in DuPage County have reported vehicle burglaries to unlocked cars over the past six months. All of the cars burglarized Monday had been left unlocked.
* Unknown suspect(s) entered an unlocked car in the 500 block of Maple Lane between Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. and Oct. 23 at 8:24 a.m. According to police, the glove compartment was ajar, but the residents said that nothing had been removed from the vehicle.
* Sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 7:34 a.m., offender(s) got into an unlocked car that was parked in a driveway in the 500 block of Maple Lane. No items were reported missing.

* Residents alerted police to suspicious activity in the 500 block of Maple Lane at 8 a.m. and found an unlocked car with an open glove box that had been rifled through. The vehicle owners told police that the incident likely took place between 12:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., but nothing had been removed from the car.
* At approximately 8:13 a.m., another report of suspicious activity took place in the 500 block of Maple Lane. During that investigation, officers found a car parked in the 400 block of Maple Lane that suspect(s) had entered while it was unlocked, sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 8:13 a.m. The glove box had been opened and papers were strewn about the car's interior, but nothing was reported missing.

* At 8:30 a.m., police were canvassing the 500 block of Maple Lane when they found an unlocked vehicle that suspect(s) had entered and searched while the car was parked in a driveway. This incident also took place between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m., but nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.
* Officers found another vehicle in the 500 block of Maple Lane with its glove box open, police said. The vehicle was unlocked when it was parked in the driveway of the residence and owners told police that suspect(s) had likely entered the car between 12:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. Nothing was reported missing.
