American Flag Burned In Darien: Police Report

Other flag incidents have happened in recent days, police say.

DARIEN, IL — An American flag was removed from a porch last Friday or Saturday in the 7500 block of Country Lane in Darien, according to a police report. Ashes of the flag were found on the front lawn, police said. No other information was available.

Other incidents involving American flags have happened in the area recently. On Aug. 9, Darien police reported a flag was removed from a flagpole in the 7100 block of Summit Road.

In Elmhurst, All Chicagoland Moving informed police an American flag displayed in front of the business was stolen last Friday night. Surveillance footage showed a man pushing a shopping cart taking the flag, police said. The suspect was later found, and the flag was returned to the business, which declined to press charges.
